The City of Philadelphia Unlocks Federal SS4A Funding to Improve Market East Streetscapes
This spring, the City of Philadelphia unlocked $2.5 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads For All (SS4A) Grant Program to improve the Market East corridor. Now that funding is secured, the City will begin planning, design, and pre-development for improvements along Market Street from 6th to Juniper Streets.

Mayor Cherelle L. Parker joined City officials today to announce the official opening and completion of the highly anticipated Market Street Old City Improvement Project. Market Street between 2nd and 6th Streets has been redesigned to better serve everyone, whether they walk, bike, use transit, or drive.

City’s $9.3 million in TASA funds to improve safety infrastructure across Philadelphia
his month, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that the City of Philadelphia will receive more than $5.3 million in funding for infrastructure improvements and education programs. The funds are part of the 2025 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) of the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Surface Block Grant Program.
