Program Update

Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day On Wednesday October 9th Vision Zero will be joining our partners at Safe Routes Philly in celebrating Walk, Bike, & Roll to School Day! Students are encouraged to embrace active methods of getting to and from school. Let us show you how simple it is and how much students benefit from getting additional movement in their day.

The benefits of using active transportation to get to school are undeniable. Students who walk, bike or roll have better attendance, better academic performance, better behavior and are happier than students who get to school other ways.

Contact our Safe Routes coordinator at peter.decarolis@phila.gov for more info.

Ride Indego

Indego Bike Share is hosting FREE two-hour, hands-on course teaches (or re-teaches) adults the basics of how to ride a bike. Bicycle Coalition staff lead participants through pedaling, balancing, turning, and the general confidence needed to successfully ride. This class is open to anyone who has never ridden a bike or simply needs a refresher.

Is the Learn-to-Ride class you want to attend full, or you can’t make it? Check out this virtual Learn-to-Ride class that you can follow at your convenience.

DVRPC

DVRPC is now accepting applications for our Planning Fellowship! The Fellowship is an opportunity for people of color to explore the field of city and regional planning, without prior training or experience, by spending a year working with various departments across the Commission. Learn more here

Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia

The Bicycle Coalition Annual Gala & Awards Dinner is an evening of cocktails and merriment, featuring a three-course plated dinner, awards ceremony, and silent & live auctions—and it’s just around the corner!

Please join us at the Ridgeland Mansion on September 26th to celebrate Greater Philadelphia’s agents of change in the bicycling community, from youth athletes and their supporters to community organizers and advocates.

Funds raised at the Gala support our year-round education and advocacy work on behalf of all people’s right to safe mobility. Tickets can be purchased here.
