Vision Zero Ambassadors 2026

Are you concerned about car crashes, speeding, and other traffic safety issues in your community?
Do you want to learn what the City is doing about it?
Do you want to take the next step to share with your community about what can be done?

The 2026 Vision Zero Ambassador closed on February 2, 2027.

We are looking for outgoing and motivated people to become Vision Zero Ambassadors this spring and summer and help spread the word about Vision Zero and traffic safety amongst friends, neighbors, and groups they are part of.

Vision Zero Ambassadors will be the voice of their community around traffic safety issues. Vision Zero Ambassadors will also work with other ambassadors to create Vision Zero messages and activities that resonate with their communities. This is the program’s fifth year, and it is modeled after the successful Indego Ambassadors program.

The Vision Zero Ambassador Program helps motivated community members share traffic safety information with their friends and neighbors. The annual program recruits, trains, and supplies ambassadors with materials. Then they attend meetings and events over the summer, answering questions and sharing what they have learned.

Selected ambassadors are expected to attend an onboarding session on either Tuesday, March 3 or Thursday, March 5 and an in-person training session on Thursday, March 12 at the annual Vision Zero Conference at Temple University. During these sessions, ambassadors will be trained on traffic safety concepts, Vision Zero, and the resources that are available within the City. They will also receive support and guidance from City staff during their ambassador engagement period (March-August 2026). During the engagement period, ambassadors will be expected to complete a minimum of eight engagement events. These events can range from tabling, content creation, and much more. We love to see Vision Zero engagement that relies on your unique skill set and what you bring to the table!

For their time and effort, Vision Zero Ambassadors will receive a stipend of $1,750 upon reported completion of the program. People who are well-connected to lower-income communities and communities of color are encouraged to apply! Applicants must be 18 years or older. City employees are not eligible to apply.

The application closed at midnight on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Check back in January 2027 if you are interested in being a Vision Zero Ambassador next year! We announce the opening of the application to our Vision Zero newsletter list so make sure to sign up for the newsletter so you’re the first to know.
